Would you like to be a part of our international work for children’s rights? We are looking for an Institutional Partnership Adviser focusing on our EU donors, in particular ECHO and DEVCO.
This is a permanent position in the Institutional Partnership Section within the International Program Department. The Institutional Partnership Section ensures long term and sustainable donor relations, resulting in funding and policy influence contributing to the SC breakthroughs in the SCN international portfolio so that children survive, learn, and are safe.
The Adviser contributes to Save the Children’s overall portfolio and partnership with the EU by supporting the development of donor analysis and strategies for donor engagement, fundraising efforts and capacity building. The Adviser will support the management of Save the Children Norway’s portfolio and partnership with the EU (ECHO and DEVCO) and potentially other international donors. The role will work closely with the Senior Adviser and colleagues internally in Save the Children Norway and country offices, as well as with other Save the Children members receiving EU funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Support SCN’s strategic engagement with ECHO and DEVCO in Brussels and at country office level.
- Provide analysis and advice on the policies and priorities of the EU donors as well as best practice for fundraising
- Assist fundraising efforts including tracking and sharing information about new funding opportunities, undertake necessary research, data analysis and background documentation, support proposal processes and assist reviews of grant agreements
- Provide advice and help-desk support to colleagues at SCN and country offices on donor expectations, requirements and compliance throughout the project cycle
- Facilitate information sharing and learning to strengthen internal staff capacity to fundraise and manage funding from EU donors, including development of guidance tools and materials.
- Coordinate with other Save the Children members receiving EU funding to deliver on joint priorities and exchange best practices.
- Collaborate with relevant experts to support advocacy efforts towards EU donors
- Support the overall deliverables and plans of the Institutional Partnership Section as needed
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- We are seeking a self-driven individual with excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills
- You are dedicated to Save the Children’s mission in ensuring all children survive, learn and are safe
- You have a university degree (BA) or equivalent in a relevant topic.
- You have practical experience from humanitarian/development organizations or donor administrations, either at head office or regional/country office level.
- You have experience in fundraising or programming including developing donor strategies and plans as well as developing proposals and reports to ECHO and DEVCO
- You possess knowledge of the EU donors, including strategic priorities, organizational setup and funding mechanisms, and grant compliance
- You have strong planning, administrative and writing skills, including strong understanding of narrative and financial reporting
- You have high work-capacity, you motivate others and enjoy working in teams
- You are fluent in English, both written and verbal
