Job description
As a deployment Advisor in the Expert Deployments/NORCAP Department (ED/N) your main responsibility is to deploy experts to the field and to follow them up before, during and after missions. To ensure timely and high quality deployments you will have to:
- Prioritize mission requests (where relevant)
- Select candidates based on incoming ToR
- Have close contact with relevant UN-agencies
- Follow established deployment procedures
- Provide day to day HR support to ED/N deployees before, during and after missions
- Ensure adequate security arrangements are in place for all ED/N deployees while on mission
- Prepare budgets and project information sheets for single deployments
- Facilitate personal debriefs for the deployees with ED/N staff care adviser
- Administrate and conduct interviews (on a needs basis)
Your responsibility also include:
- Compliance with all ED/N deployment routines and guidelines
- Collection, systematising, analysis and sharing of information from the field (geographic/thematic)
- Ensuring relevant information and analysis to funding proposals and reports
- Contribution to identification of need for recruitment to the rosters, and the capacity development of roster members
- Contribution to effective cooperation between different sections/departments and take active part in relevant working groups within the organisation
- To stay updated on developments and trends within relevant geographical regions
- Active participation and coordination with UN-partners, MFA and other relevant stakeholders in relation to specific deployments
- Contribute to other tasks in the department when required
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Manager/Adviser experience within the humanitarian field
- Relevant higher educationExperience from working with HR processes and managing people
- Documented results related to the position's responsibilities
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of standard ICT office support systems
