Job description
Generic responsibilities:
Research and keep updated on logistical trends and developments in the humanitarian world.
Provide technical advice and guidance to the Country Programmes (through remote and in country).
Identify opportunities and establish relevant framework agreements and develop the cooperation with global suppliers.
Develop, revise, implement and support the rollout of supply chain systems and tools, such as Fleet Management, Warehouse Management systems, Electronic Tender Management Systems, etc.
Develop, revise and implement logistical policies and tools.
Ensure adherence to the Logistics Handbook and other NRC policies and procedures.
Training of senior logistics employees.
Network and co-operate with other organisations to ensure synergies and identify/share lessons learned.
Interfacing and coordinating with key internal stakeholders.
Contribute to the NRC anti-corruption initiatives.
Supporting with the following day to day operational tasks:
o Insurance related matters
o Ordering of vehicles '
o Country closing down processesTravelling to Country Offices to provide support in the following areas, as would be agreed in the pre-departure ToR:
o Capacity building
o Compliance audit
o Implementation of improvementsSupporting emergency response activities through the Global First Response Capacity facility (prepositioned stocks).
Supporting the logistics unit’s other projects and activities.
Specific Responsibilities:

eSourcing Project Management Responsibilities.
Supporting the logistics unit’s other projects and activities as required.
Qualifications
Educational (MA level or equiv.) and/or relevant professional knowledge in supply chain management / business management / project management, or similar.
Non humanitarian logistics professionals are encouraged to apply.
Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in one or more Logistics functions i.e. procurement, warehouse management, fleet management, etc.…
Documented results in problem definition and implementation of solutions.
Fluency in English both written and verbal is required.
Fluency in French, both written and verbal an asset, but not required.
