This is an exciting opportunity to provide expertise in ensuring that all applications within NRC are hosted securely and reliably on Microsoft Azure and using Terraform for IAC.
What we are looking for
NRC is seeking a highly qualified DevOps Engineer with documented previous experience with agile software development methodologies and in building secure systems.
What you will do
Some of your specific responsibilities include:
- Lead the deployment of internal and third-party applications to Azure.
- Working with development teams to ensure DevOps best practices are followed.
- Setting standards for DevOps at NRC.
- Responsible for the configuring and maintaining application monitoring tools.
- Building deployment automations to aid development team’s workflows.
- Automate deployment and management of infrastructure using Azure DevOps and other CI/CD tools.
- Managing NRC platform's quality, stability, security, and automatization.

What you will bring
- 5 years of previous work experience in DevOps.
- Design and implement deployment tooling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience/knowledge in building secure systems.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies.
- The ability to work autonomously.
- Degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong experience with Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Strong experience with IAC, specifically terraform.
- Strong experience with Git, GitOps, and managing repositories.
- Experience with monitoring and log analysis tools.
- Proficiency in writing scripts and automation.
- Experience with relational databases, such as Postgres.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker.
- Experience with designing CI/CD pipelines with development teams, using GitHub Actions.
- The ability to find solutions for hosting applications in a multitude of environments (regarding laws, security requirements, network conditions, etc.).

- Duty station: NRC Oslo, Berlin or Brussels.
- Contract: national contract, 1 - year contract with a possibility of extension.
- Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC’s regional salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
