We are currently looking for a Global Salary Manager to join our ranks in a truly international - and meaningful - context.
Background:
The Global Finance (GF) section is responsible for the development and operationalization of the Centre of Excellence for Financial management and processes in NRC and as such to ensure that NRC delivers high quality, effective and accountable financial management in line with policies, strategies, donor requirements, national legislation, systems, handbooks and guidelines.
The section has two units: 1. Policy and Control Unit and 2. Accounting, Payroll, Treasury and Unit4 Unit, where this position is placed.
Out of NRC's total costs about 40% are salaries to our staff. Payrolls in NRC are complex with many different salary compensation packages and comprehensive tax and social security reporting in Norway, country of work and country of living. NRC use Unit4 as the payroll software, while the input data comes from an Oracle HRM system. The Head Office payrolls covers in the end of 2020 about 250 staff in Head Office in Oslo, 600 staff on international contracts located in regional, country and representative offices, and 400 Norcap roster staff on short-term international deployments.
Duties and responsibilities
Global Salary Manager is responsible for managing and developing NRC Head Office’s payrolls and being the centre of excellence for all payroll tools in all of NRC’s operations.
- Responsible for running the Head Office payrolls with high quality
- Coordinate and build competence in the payroll team to ensure that tasks and activities are executed according to strategies, plans and procedures
- Responsible for tax and pension reports for various authorities and institutions are done in time and according to laws and regulations. At all times manage the related payments
- Responsible to develop procedures, processes and upgrade payroll systems to be fit for purpose and meet future needs
- Represent the payroll function in relevant forum internally and externally. Being the focal point for payroll related topics
Qualifications
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Professional knowledge in accounting and relevant experience of providing payroll services within a large and complex international environment
- Strong technical systems knowledge and preferable experience from Unit4 Payroll and Oracle HRM systems
- Financial analytical skills
- Experience from international remuneration packages and pensions schemes
- Experience from Norwegian and international tax regulations
- Experience from coordination work
- Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and verbal
