Norwegian Church Aid can now offer a very exciting position within the Humanitarian Division in the Department for International Programmes. ASRH is a new competence area NCA will integrate in the humanitarian responses from 2020. Access to quality sexual and reproductive health care is essential to the health and well-being of adolescents. As ASRH advisor, you will coordinate with in-country ASRH advisors or programme managers to ensure the ASRH is implemented according to international standards. When working in Oslo, you will coordinate with the Humanitarian Coordinators and other ASRH advisors. In this regard you will be an integral part of NCA's programmes on gender-based violence in conflict, post-conflict and humanitarian crisis. You can expect to travel both to NCA’s humanitarian operations as well as our country offices.

The position is predicated upon funding and is a temporary position for nine months with the possibility of an extension. This position will entail traveling and is based at NCAs Headquarters in Oslo. (We may also be willing to be flexible for the right candidate, someone with the right skills and experience, who wants a mix of home and field-based assignments)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Update the existing ASRH toolkit developed by the IAWG and adapt it to the country context of selected countries
  • Roll out the training on ASRH in selected countries
  • Direct follow up of the implementation of the ASRH programmes in selected countries
  • Ensure MISP and comprehensive ASRH (when the acute phase is over) implementation
  • Ensure the integration of ASRH with WASH and GBV
  • Implement/follow up adult and community involvement by using norm-shifting interventions
  • Develop M&E tools to measure the progress/challenges of the AsRH in-country programmes
  • Participate in the evaluation of the ASRH programme
  • Contribute with inputs and, if needed, in country support of the CASH feasibility study and pilot project on CASH in ASRH
  • Participate in selected SRH sub-clusters when deployed

Qualifications:

  • Formal education within midwifery, nursing, gynaecology or medicine.
  • Three to five years’ experience working as a midwife, nurse, or doctor in the field
  • Solid experience in training and capacity building experience, particularly using participatory approaches and methods in for training
  • Proven experience managing ASRH programs
  • Prior security training is an advantage
  • Fluency in English is required, Norwegian, French, and/or Arabic are an advantage
