Amnesty International is looking for an experienced Global Human Rights Education Advocacy Project Manager to lead on the design and delivery of advocacy projects in close cooperation with the HRE Programme Director. Join the team at an exciting time within the organisation and play an integral part of ensuring HRE advocacy projects are impactfully designed, effectively managed and successfully completed.

(Work globally, based at Amnesty International Norway in Oslo for the first four years)

· First interviews prospective dates: Week Starting 20th, 21st , 22nd April

· Second interviews prospective dates: Week Starting 25th and 26th April

About the role:

Access to human rights education creates the foundation for a rights respecting society, for (re)claiming rights. It underpins Amnesty’s human rights work.

You’ll support the HRE Programme Director in developing HRE advocacy strategies and carrying out Advocacy work on the international level. You will work on the design and development of HRE advocacy resources, working with Amnesty International’s entities to ensure we can effectively hold governments accountable to deliver on the right to HRE, and contribute to strategically enriching national, regional and international level policy and practice.

A key driver for advocacy efforts within the team, you’ll provide advice and support to Amnesty International entities, to ensure the systematic integration of Human Rights Education in national and local level policies and practice.

About you:

With experience in the human rights education field, you’ll have worked on the national level with international standards to advocate for the right to human rights education Ideally you have contributed to national or local plans for human rights education and have developed strategies for integrating human rights education in the curriculum.

You’ll have an educational background of public international law or related studies, have worked in different cultural contexts, have proven understanding of HRE methodology and its implications, and crucially, understand and have experience in the development of national level HRE advocacy strategies. You are fluent in English, Spanish or French are an asset.
