Norwegian Church Aid can now offer a very exciting position within the Humanitarian Division in the Department for International Programmes. As our new advisor, you will lead the development of a feminist-informed engaging men and boys programme for NCA to prevent violence against women and girls, as well as help to strengthen GBV prevention, protection and response in NCA and partners humanitarian interventions and long-term development work. You will work within the Humanitarian Division, which is known for its close collaboration between sectors, targeted responses, and creative, professional and synergetic approach. You will be an integral part of NCA's programmes on gender-based violence in conflict, post-conflict and humanitarian crisis. You can expect to travel from 90 to 120 days a year, both to NCA’s our humanitarian operations as well as country offices.

The position is a temporary position for two years, renewable, and we are looking at someone starting this role as soon as possible.

Duties and responsibilities:

· Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and research of an Engaging Men and Boys programme component/curriculum/toolkit to be applied in GBViE programmes/settings;

· Support the development and strengthening NCA’s work on economic empowerment of women and girls using multi-purpose cash grants in a GBV Case Management process;

· Strengthen GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response in NCA and partners humanitarian interventions;

· Technical focal point for multiple countries implementing GBViE programme(s);

· Provide in-country support to GBViE programmes, from supporting country strategy development, start-up and conceptualization of programmes, capacity building and/or proposal development;

· Develop new and innovative partnerships from non-traditional funding streams, with private sector, corporations, and foundations;

· Develop and manage project proposals, reports, and manage project budgets;

· Contribute to more integrated responses and long-term approaches;

· Co-empower partners and national staff in GBViE; and

· Provide strategic direction and technical advice on programme development with a focus on the prevention, risk mitigation and response to GBV.

Qualifications:

· Master’s Degree in social science, gender studies, public health, humanitarian affairs, international development or a related degree programme or related field;

· Minimum 5 years of professional experience related to GBV prevention and response programming in conflict and post conflict settings with solid knowledge of international humanitarian standards for GBViE;

· Solid experience in training and capacity building experience, particularly using participatory approaches and methods in for training related to different components of GBV programming:

· Excellent donor and partnership relations, in particular non-traditional funding streams from foundations, and creative development of private partnerships within the corporate sector;

· Experience with research projects and managing different aspects of gender sensitive research including Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other ethical considerations and practicalities of conducting research with vulnerable populations;

· Fluency in English is required, Norwegian, French, and/or Arabic are an advantage
