Violence and armed conflicts threaten human dignity, damage the environment and destroy communities. We at Norwegian Church Aid support efforts to seek non-violent solutions to existing conflicts. Do you want to perform an essential job for NCA within Peacebuilding and Conflict sensitivity? As our Advisor, you will support our country offices and partners in developing, quality assuring, and implementing peacebuilding interventions and a comprehensive, efficient and easily accessible methodology within conflict sensitivity. You are self-driven, structured and can work with a very knowledgeable team of professionals. You can build strong partnerships across all areas of the organization and with colleagues at all levels, from senior leadership to national staff employees to our faith-based partners.
The position is based at NCAs Headquarters in Oslo in the Department for international programmes, Division for Southern and West Africa. You will also be part our head office peacebuilding team, where you will work in a multicultural work environment with highly competent and professional colleagues.
Duties and responsibilities
- Contribute to the implementation and further development of NCA’s global peacebuilding programme.
- Further develop NCA’s conflict sensitivity tools.
- Facilitate internal capacity building, including NCA country offices and partners on NCA approaches and methodologies within peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity.
- Contribute to keeping the organization professionally up to date on new trends and developments, including the use of new technology.
- Networking and representation in priority national and international forums.
- Write and quality-assure plans, applications and reports, as well as identify opportunities for revenue assurance.
- Contribute to the development of global results reporting on peacebuilding.
Qualifications
- Experience within the field of peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity
- Experience of working with development aid projects, field experience.
- Proven experience in working on capacity building of civil society organizations and staff.
- Must be fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
- Fluency in Norwegian is desirable.
