Would you like to be a part of our international work for children’s rights? We have an exciting one-year vacancy where we are looking for an Adviser Institutional Partnership focusing on our International Donors, in particular the EU (DEVCO, NEAR, ECHO) and potentially the UN and the International Banks (WB, AfDB etc.).
The position is in the Institutional Partnership Section within the International Program Department. The Institutional Partnership Section is responsible for developing and maintaining Save the Children Norway’s (SCN) strategic relations with institutional donors. The section provides support to SCN, other SC members and Save the Children International (SCI).
The Adviser will be supporting the development of donor analysis and strategies for donor engagement, as well as funding prospects with existing and new donors. The role holds a support function related to fundraising/donor relations, as well as developing and providing internal training and help-desk support. The Adviser will support the management of SCN’s portfolio and partnership first and foremost with the EU (DEVCO, NEAR and ECHO) and potentially other International Donors. The role will work closely with relevant colleagues internally in SCN and SCI as well as with other SC Members.
The position includes occasional travel outside Norway.
Key tasks
- Support SCN’s strategic engagement with international donors
- Provide analysis and advice on the policies and priorities of the relevant donors as well as best practice for fundraising
- Assist fundraising efforts including tracking and sharing information about new funding opportunities, undertake necessary research and background documentation, support proposal processes when needed and assist reviews of grant agreements, service contracts and other relevant agreements
- Provide advice on donor expectations, requirements and compliance throughout the project cycle
- Facilitate internal information sharing and learning
- Strengthen internal staff capacity on fundraising, compliance, donor engagement, policies and priorities etc. and provide necessary help-desk support
- Contribute to Advocacy efforts targeting relevant donors
- Support the overall deliverables of the Institutional Partnership Section as needed
Professional qualifications
- University degree (MA) or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience from a humanitarian/development organization or donor administration, either at HQ or field level
- Experience from fundraising, including developing donor strategies and plans as well as developing proposals and reports to government/institutional donors
- Good knowledge of the EU donors and/or other major international institutional donors such as the UN and the international banks, including strategic priorities, organizational setup and funding mechanisms
- Experienced with written reporting, and strong understanding of financial reporting and budgeting
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
