Background

There is a variety of trainings, workshops, mentoring as well as on the job learning happening every day. Our project teams incorporate new ideas continuously and share across borders and regions.

Responsibilities and tasks

However, there is a need to systemize and design more structured approaches to learning and development in the organization, capitalizing on the developments that are happening.

The main task for our new Head of Learning & Development will be to further develop and operationalize the learning and development capacity in NRC to support talent management and organisational strategy. It is a strategic and managerial role which requires leadership skills and solid experience from Learning & Development. It also requires understanding and experience from managing change.

Supported by the Learning & Development global team, you will begin with a full review of Learning & Development in NRC in light of organisational strategy. The review should be followed by a process of developing existing initiatives into a holistic L&D programme which aims to build people and making them better able to deliver on strategy, and which supports talent management in NRC.

The Head of Learning and Development reports directly to the Global HR Director.

The two most important responsibilities are: (please review job description for more details)

  • To develop and implement a holistic approach to Learning & Development in NRC, which supports organisational strategy and talent management.
  • To build the team of L&D professionals in NRC, including people management of the Global team.

Qualifications

We expect that you offer:

  • Relevant higher education within Learning & Development or related area
  • Solid people management experience
  • Experience from developing the learning and development area in similar organization and contexts
  • Skills, interest and proven experience with instructional design using learning technology and tools

Our new Head of Learning and Development is an ambitious individual with strong communication skills who excels when it comes to people management and who is expected to influence senior managers and the board. Is this you?

The position is a permanent position based in the HR department at the NRC Head Office in Oslo. The contract conditions are as per national NRC Oslo terms of employment.
